Gateway Cabinetry was founded in 2021 by Jeremey Martin and James Slaughter after years of working side-by-side throughout the St. Louis area on custom homes, renovations, and woodworking projects. What started as a shared passion for craftsmanship eventually became a partnership built on trust, creativity, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Before forming Gateway Cabinetry, Jeremey and James each operated independently while continuing to collaborate on projects whenever possible. After years of successful teamwork, the decision to officially join forces felt natural and together, they brought over 30 years of combined experience into a company focused on quality custom woodworking and cabinetry.

Gateway Cabinetry enjoys every aspect of woodworking. From custom cabinetry and built-ins to one-of-a-kind design challenges, they take pride in finding solutions and bringing ideas to life. Their work is heavily influenced by the character and craftsmanship found throughout the St. Louis region. Jeremey is also lifelong history enthusiast and has spent the last five years restoring a historic home in his hometown of Collinsville, IL. His appreciation for historic architecture and timeless craftsmanship carries into the work that he does every day.

Recently, Gateway Cabinetry purchased and began restoration on a 100+ year-old building which is being transformed into Gateway Cabinetry’s new work shop and offices. Preserving old spaces while creating something lasting is a philosophy that reflects who they are as craftsmen and business owners. They strive to build as much as possible in-house before installation, allowing projects to move efficiently while minimizing disruption in their clients’ homes. They believe the process should feel just as thoughtful and professional as the finished product itself.
